Building a Pot Hole with Emotion
A year has passed since I made my last puppets, and I was itching to make new one, that be it as a personal project or for a film. And out of left field, the idea of giving life to something inanimate and despised as a pot hole was born.
The building process was pretty straightforward, but still, filled with exciting challenges, such as, the most fun of all, trying to make something feel heavy using a relatively weightless material and lived in. That look was achieved using spray paint, extensive weathering, dry brushing and real life pebbles and rocks to make an authentic "boquete" (or at least as authentic as a anthropomorphic pot hole can be).
